Wasserburg, November 17, 2022 - Together with eleven other companies, RKW Wasserburg exchanged views on the topic of energy efficiency in the E.ON Energy Efficiency Network Southeast Bavaria from 2019 to November 2022.
In 10 efficiency workshops, topics such as the evaluation of resource efficiency measures (waste, material, etc.) with regard to emission reductions, optimal use of waste heat flows (The Pinch Analysis), self-generation/CHP/load management as well as cooling system and plant optimization were discussed. The last workshop took place on November 9 at RKW Wasserburg.
Not only were possible energy efficiency measures analyzed, the network also set a savings target for 2019: reduce energy consumption by 17,000 [MWh/yr] and reduce CO2 emissions by 4,000 [t/yr]. Monitoring of the savings measures was carried out by Ffe (Forschungsgesellschaft für Energiewirtschaft mbH).
Targets exceeded
The measures implemented in the participating companies were successful. Both targets were exceeded. Energy consumption was reduced by 22,000 [MWh/a] and CO2 emissions by 6,600 [t/a].
