RKW at Techtextil 2024

Corporate

Mannheim, April 15, 2024 - At this year's Techtextil from April 23-26, RKW Group will be presenting its extensive range of nonwovens and speciality films, including the breathable film Aptra®, the barrier film Trikoron and embossed films. At stand D36 in hall 11.1, visitors can find out more about the high-quality films and nonwovens, which are used for personal care products, industrial applications and in the construction and furniture industries, among others.

A highlight of the trade show presentation will be the innovative hydroentangled spunbond nonwoven RKW HyJet®, which RKW has been the first manufacturer worldwide to produce inline. The particularly soft, yet tear-resistant material is made of 100 percent polypropylene and is particularly resilient thanks to the continuous filaments that make up the nonwoven. RKW HyJet® is available in various colors and weights and, thanks to its properties, is suitable for a wide range of applications: in the personal care sector as cleaning and wet wipes, as transport protection for cars, as insulation material in the construction industry or as a crop protection nonwoven for agriculture and horticulture.

"RKW stands for high-quality products. We offer our customers high-performance nonwoven solutions and laminates that are perfectly tailored to their specific requirements," says Julian Eckhold, Manager Sales Technical Films & Nonwovens. "We are pioneers in the inline production of hydroentangled spunbond nonwovens and are continuously developing these further with our customers in order to meet the highest demands. We are aware of our responsibility and keep our product cycle as closed as possible according to the current state of the art." In addition to RKW HyJet®, the company will also be showcasing its thermobonded spunbond nonwovens, which are used as roof underlays, in automotive applications, the furniture and mattress industry, as well as in the hygiene and medical sectors.

RKW Fruit Pad - The sustainable packaging for berries

The new, fully recyclable and multi-layered RKW Fruit Pads are characterized by an innovative structure: moisture-absorbing RKW HyJet® nonwoven combined with a very soft film. The multi-layered, adhesive-free structure provides optimum cushioning for the fruit as well as a dry and ventilated surface. When stored in a dry place between 2°C and 4°C, fruit stays fresh for up to 48 hours longer than with conventional alternatives. The RKW Fruit Pad also impresses in terms of sustainability. On the one hand, the extended shelf life of the fruit ensures less product loss, while on the other, RKW Fruit Pads are 100% recyclable, as they are the world's first and so far only product solution consisting of a mono-material.

Aptra® - breathable film for a wide range of applications

Aptra® is a breathable film that can be used as a laminate with other materials. The unique film offers an exceptional combination of outstanding barrier properties and breathability, making it well suited for the construction industry as a roof underlay and as disposable protective clothing or for the textile industry. Aptra® can be easily laminated to a wide range of substrates using a variety of processes.

Trikoron® - Technical films with special co-polymers

Trikoron® films are perfect functional carriers. They can be processed with a wide variety of textiles to form a laminate and are therefore the perfect combination for RKW nonwovens. Thanks to the polymers used, they offer extreme puncture resistance and thermal stability. This makes them perfect for use in the automotive industry. As a functional carrier between two nonwovens, they provide adhesion and protection for floors (vehicle floor in the interior), and in electric cars they offer the perfect cover for batteries.

Embossed films - customized for a wide range of applications

The special RKW embossed films are tailored to customer requirements. Equipped with a wide variety of structures and their release properties, they are suitable for a wide range of applications: From the automotive sector to use in protective clothing.
