With Unpack Expectations RKW ECORE® Sustainable Film Solutions, the RKW Group will be present at the Interpack 2023
Mannheim (Germany), April 4, 2023 – The RKW Group will present its sustainable film solutions, for consumer and industrial goods at the Interpack 2023. The world's leading trade fair for packaging and processing technology will take place from May 4-10, 2023, in Düsseldorf, Germany.
From Multipack collation shrink films for the beverage industry, labels and multilayer laminations films for consumer packaging to industrial packaging as RKW ProVent®, a self-venting bag for moisture sensitive powdery goods. The new innovative RKW Fruit Pads, as well as the RKW CO2 Neutral® Packaging films and RKW Oceans®, PE films with recycled content from oceans and rivers, will be presented at this year’s Interpack.
Under the label RKW ECORE® sustainable film solutions, RKW will present its latest development: RKW Horizon® – a MDO PE film to develop fully recyclable mono-material packaging structures. The MDO PE lamination barrier and non-barrier films are produced with a 9 layer extrusion line. MDO barrier films play a significant role in sustainability. Due to its oxygen barrier it extends the shelf life of packed goods and reduces food waste. RKW’s MDO films are used as an outer layer for printing and can replace PET/OPP in packaging of pet-food, snacks, cereals and treats, to barrier films with EVOH to develop packages for nuts, coffee, meat and cheese, and many more.
With the investment in this new 9L line and an additional investment in a 5L line for advanced lamination films, the RKW Group offers one of the broadest MDO PE film ranges in the industry with high transparency or white opaque films as well as films with or without barrier properties.
RKW Multipack collation films – the sustainable packaging for the beverage industry
Another highlight is RKW’s broad range of multipack collation shrink films, including the latest development: with up to 100% recycled content. RKW Multipack films can be printed also using the EGP™ Printing Technology (Extended Gamut Printing Technology), which is more sustainable by reducing energy and material consumption during production. The product portfolio of our multipack shrink film enables a wide range of packaging options for PET bottles, cans, Tetra Packs etc.
RKW ProVent® – the perfect packaging solution for powdery and moisture sensitive goods
Since its market introduction more than 15 years ago, RKW ProVent® has become the top-selling solution for impact and tear resistant bags with proprietary self-venting feature. RKW will present the complete RKW ProVent® portfolio developed for different packaging needs: from a seamless front allowing perfect print designs to flexible production in different lengths.
RKW ProVent® bags stand out with an excellent machine run-ability and high filling speeds, protecting the filled good perfectly. The industrial packaging product range consists also of FFS flat films, valve bags and heavy-duty bags.
Broad range of films and nonwovens for packaging solutions
At the Interpack, RKW will show for the first time RKW’s Fruit Pads made with our unique RKW HyJet® nonwovens. This product development allows to extend the shelf life of berries up to 48 hours, leading to less product loss and waste reduction.
RKW completes its portfolio for packaging with its unique sustainable paperlike films FPO® and compounds, its broad range of household materials with a variety of bags. Besides, RKW offers a wide range of surface protection films, soil films, multilayer lamination films, liners and label films.
Transport and pallet protection at its best
For transport and pallet protection, RKW will present its shrink films and stretch hoods. RKW’s high quality shrink films offer excellent stability, less excess film, no wrinkling, combined with faster and greater shrinkage – and all with less energy consumption. The shrink films are perfectly suitable for bottles and glass. RKW’s stretch hoods are extreme tear and puncture resistance, they can reliably withstand sharp edges and even great net weights and are therefore suitable, for example, for the chemical or construction industry and can even be stored outdoors.
