Eric Le Lay
Chief Executive Officer

Eric Le Lay holds an Engineering degree from UTC France as well as an MBA from HEC School of Management in France. He has spent nearly 30 years in the packaging industry. Eric started his career as a Production Engineer and later Business Unit Controller at Kraft General Foods, where he spent 8 years. He then served as a Plant Manager at Johnson & Johnson and United Biscuits prior to joining Amcor. In his 12 years at Amcor, Eric rose from Plant Manager to Managing Director of the European Chilled Foods division. Eric spent 15 years with Huhtamaki and most recently served as President of the Foodservice & Fiber division at Huhtamaki where he was a Member of the Global Executive Team. 


Corrado Piroli
Chief Financial Officer

Corrado Piroli has a degree in Economics and Accounting. He comes to RKW from the Seves Group. There, he most recently served as CFO for more than 10 years, before which he held various finance functions. Seves Group, based in Luxembourg, is the leading global manufacturer of glass insulators for power transition lines. Corrado is a native Italian (Parma) and has lived and worked in Italy, the Czech Republic, China, Austria, France and Luxembourg.


Philippe Ferrand
Executive Vice President Operations

Philippe Ferrand holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from ENSIC Nancy, France, and has more than 30 years of operational experience in the paper and flexible packaging industry. He started his career as Lab Manager and Product Manager and later as Production Manager in the paper industry at Arjo Wiggins (now owned by Munksjo). Philippe then held senior management positions at Amcor and Chesapeake (now owned by West Rock/Smurfit Kappa). During his career, he has been responsible for sites and operations throughout Europe and China. Prior to joining RKW, Philippe spent 8 years at Huhtamaki, most recently as Senior Vice President Operations & Technology. At RKW, Ferrand is responsible for the Operations function and, in this role, a member of the Executive Board.


Jörg Achhammer
Executive Vice President Legal

Jörg Achhammer is a fully qualified lawyer and completed an executive management program at INSEAD in Fontainbleau. His expertise includes the management of international transactions in M&A, corporate finance and capital markets. He held various functions at RKW and is currently responsible for Legal, Governance and M&A. Prior to joining RKW he worked i.a. as an attorney at the U.S. law firm White & Case, completed secondments at financial institutions in London and Frankfurt and worked for the automotive supplier Schaeffler during a major restructuring.


Amalia Ayala Abad
Executive Vice President Strategic Programs & Value Creation

Amalia holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management from Burgos University, Spain, and completed an international program at The Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. She has over 20 years of international leadership experience in finance, commercial excellence, and capability development, with a strong track record in profitable growth and margin expansion. In senior positions at Amcor, Fiskars Group, and most recently as Head of Commercial Excellence at RKW, she led company-wide programs to improve profitability, introduce commercial tools and CRM systems, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration. As EVP Strategic Programs & Value Creation, she leads group-wide strategic programs and initiatives across business segments, functions and sites.


Oliver Mersmann
Executive Vice President Public Affairs & Sustainability

Oliver holds an MBA from Maastricht University and a Law degree from the University of Bonn, complemented by the German Bar Exam. He has extensive experience in law, public affairs, and regulatory advocacy, gained in leadership roles at Momentive Performance Materials and Cefic – the European Chemical Industry Council. His career spans global government relations, sustainability regulation, aero-space&defence business development, and consulting. Fluent in German, English, and French, Oliver drives RKW’s public affairs and sustainability agenda, leading portfolio transformation, circular economy initiatives, regulatory strategy, and serving as the key contact for political, industry, and sustainability stakeholders.


Nico Savvas
Executive Vice President Commercial and Innovation

Nico Savvas holds an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Finance & Accounting from Cardiff University, UK, and is a Qualified Accountant (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). Nico has a strong track record in global business leadership, sales & marketing, and business development. He has over 15 years of senior management experience in manufacturing and consumer goods with Amcor, working across Asia, Europe, North & South America, and Australia, where he has built high performing teams, led business turnarounds, and driven profitable growth sustainably. Most recently, he served as Vice President Sales & Marketing for Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific.


Nobue von Wurzbach
Executive Vice President Human Resources

Nobue holds a Master’s in International Development and a Bachelor’s in Economics & International Studies from American University in Washington, DC. She has more than 25 years of international leadership experience in Human Resources, complemented by roles in Business Development, Strategic Marketing, and Sales. Her career with major global organizations has consistently focused on aligning business priorities with people strategies, shaping high performing cultures, and embedding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion into business practice to achieve sustainable growth. Before joining RKW, she served as HR Director, Flexible Packaging at Mondi Group, where she led HR strategy and operations for 11,500 employees across 30+ countries.
