In the study "Deutschlands beste Ausbildungsbetriebe 2022” (“Germany's best apprenticeship companies 2022”), RKW receives the award "very high attractiveness as a company that offers apprenticeships". In cooperation with WELT, the analysis institute ServiceValue GmbH asked citizens to rate 3,984 larger German companies from the service sector, retail and industry in terms of their attractiveness as apprenticing companies.

“We are very happy that our efforts and commitment to young talents have been recognized with this rating and that we have received this award," says Sarah Feyer, HR Business Partner at RKW Echte (Germany), who is delighted with the result of the study. “High-quality apprenticeship is the foundation for further professional development.” “The apprenticeship of high-performing employees is a long-standing basis for the RKW Group and more important than ever. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers and rising resource costs, it is important to introduce young people to the world of work in a targeted manner,” adds Johannes Obermaier, Supervisor Apprenticeship at the Wasserburg site in Germany.

As a plastic film producer with around 3,000 employees, RKW can look back on a long tradition. Founded in 1957, the company with its 18 locations worldwide has been 100 percent family-owned for 65 years.

“Apprenticeship has a very high priority at RKW and we are always looking for young people who want to work with us on our excellent film solutions,” Sarah explains. “We train our skilled workforce of tomorrow ourselves, because we can only meet the challenges of the future with well-trained employees who are familiar with our products and equipment. Our trainers are highly motivated and do everything they can to give their apprentices the best possible start to their careers. Those who start with us and perform well also have a good chance of being taken on.”

The study "Germany's Best Apprenticeship Companies" is based on a large number of online surveys. Citizens are asked which of the listed companies they know as apprenticing companies and which they can rate accordingly. The opinion is gathered on the basis of a five-point response scale: "excellent" (1), "very good" (2), "good" (3), "average" (4), "poor" (5). The positioning in the ranking is then determined using an unweighted average.
