The corona crisis is pushing our healthcare system to the limit. In order to provide the best possible care for COVID-19 patients and at the same time ensure the health of doctors, nurses and hospital staff, a joint effort across industry boundaries is required.
That is why RKW and Renault Trucks joined forces: Every day, the French site RKW Castelletta located close to Saint Etienne is delivering PE plastic film to volunteers from Renault Trucks located in Lyon in order to produce home-made aprons and gowns.
Since the project started, more than 270,000 aprons and 12,500 gowns have been delivered free of charge to Hospices Civils de Lyon.
RKW is glad being able supporting medical staff such as Laëtitia, a 22-year-old nurse at the Edouard Herriot Hospital in Lyon: “Thank you for supporting us so we can continue focusing on our work. With the protective equipment, we feel safe to do so.”
Beside RKW and Renault Trucks, DOW Chemicals and ExxonMobil Europe are supporting this initiative as well.
