RKW donates to local aid organizations worldwide

We assume social responsibility

Mannheim, December 16, 2020 - The RKW Group is committed to social responsibility. Every year, employees at all RKW sites around the world get involved in social causes in their communities and regions. Now, at the end of the year, the sites and headquarters have also donated a five-figure sum to local social aid organizations.

Christmas donations have a long tradition in the RKW Group. They are a sign of the sense of responsibility towards society and the community. Within the RKW Group, each location decides for itself which charitable organization to make the donation to.

The range is as wide as the diversity of the locations. The company headquarters has turned its attention to child and youth welfare and has donated in equal parts to the “Heilpädagogische Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Oberotterbach e.V.”, based in the southern Palatinate, and the “Schifferkinderheim” in Mannheim.

Focus on child protection

In general, the protection of children was also the focus of donations from the RKW sites: whether RKW Wasserburg, RKW Echte, RKW Agri in Michelstadt or RKW Hyplast in Hogstraaten (Belgium), RKW Castelletta in Chamboeuf (France) or RKW Guangzhou in China. The care of children with disabilities or with cancer, families affected by immediate poverty - there is support for these just as there is for volunteer fire departments (Michelstadt, Nordhorn), local schools (RKW Petersaurach), flood victims in Vietnam (RKW Vietnam) or homeless people (RKW Sweden).

"We deliberately refrain from giving Christmas gifts to business customers and partners and instead donate to charitable causes. This is part of our self-image of being an active and positive part of our society," says Harald Biederbick, CEO of RKW SE. Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, he said, the company has supported a number of social projects - for example, donating films and protective masks to schools and medical facilities. "We will continue to make this contribution in the future, too, helping to make people's lives a little better all over the world."
