Successful Hygiene Audit at RKW Castelletta
Frankenthal (Germany), November 12, 2018 - RKW Group and French multinational beverage corporation Danone Waters have tightened their bonds: Following a first-time hygiene audit by the American Institute of Baking (AIB) at its French subsidiary RKW Castelletta in Saint Galmier, RKW has achieved a top score. The company now ranks as five-star supplier for Danone Waters and sets the benchmark for the hygienic quality of secondary packaging production within Danone Waters' international supplier network.
As a major beverage corporation, Danone Waters requires particularly high quality and hygiene standards for primary and secondary packaging. At the beginning of October, Danone Waters put RKW Castelletta to the test by requesting for the first time an AIB audit to evaluate the hygienic conditions of RKW's shrink film production. The Site in Saint Galmier is a Center of Competence for MultiPack shrink film and perfectly reflects RKW's strive for excellence. In terms of hygiene certification standards, AIB audits are a major reference in the food and beverage industry, calling for specific measures to evaluate and mitigate the risk of potential contaminations.
The Site fulfilled all of Danone Waters' expectations, achieving 869 out of 1000 possible scores at the audit, which now positions RKW as a five-star supplier in Danone's supplier ranking system. RKW Castelletta's General Manager Jean-Pascal Coste said: "This excellent result reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest hygienic standards, in accordance with one of our key corporate values, which is reliability. Receiving this distinction also mirrors our joint team effort, which I am particularly proud of. We take great care in eliminating potential contamination risks on-site at all times." Further regular audits will follow.
As a five-star supplier, RKW Castelletta will play a prominent role in Danone Waters' worldwide supplier network. "The audit result will strengthen our already close cooperation and benefit our business in the long term," Coste emphasizes. The recent distinction continues the successful series of achievements of RKW Castelletta. Over the years, RKW and its subsidiary RKW Castelletta have received many industry awards, e.g. for the superior print quality of its custom-printed MultiPack shrink films, and for outstanding print design. Many other RKW Sites are certified according to hygiene standards similar to the AIB, such as BRC, HACCP or SQF.
