Walk the talk
Our commitment to sustainability
Saturday morning on the banks of the Rhine, somewhere between Mannheim and Worms. A group of about 30 people - women, men, even some children - set off, equipped with tongs, gloves and garbage bags. They all wear vests with the inscription "ONE RKW" and search the riverbank for garbage. Old bottles, leftovers of clothes, cigarette butts - everything is collected and finally taken away. The banks of the Rhine have become a bit cleaner today.
RKW headquarters' participation in "RhinecleanUp" marked the end of the "Sustainability Summer Campaign", which the company launched in July 2020.

At its core, the campaign focused on one question: What contribution can we, each and every one of us, make? In addition to providing a wealth of information about the RKW Group's commitment to sustainability, the campaign therefore focused on concrete actions. The fact that RKW in Frankenthal was the largest group, with 30 of 120 participants, made our colleagues all the more pleased.
But not only river banks were cleaned. Employees at almost all the company's sites were committed to environmental protection and sustainability issues. For example, at the Gronau site, where the RKW team at least partially carried out the city's "Easter cleaning", which was cancelled due to corona, on its own initiative.
Or in Petersaurach, where the trainees have created a meadow of orchards - on the plant premises, but accessible to the local residents. Just two of many examples that show: RKW is committed to environmental protection and sustainability. We don't just talk about it, we take a very concrete approach to the subject. And this is exactly what the slogan "ONE RKW - Stronger Together" is all about.
