Mannheim, 22 November 2021 – The RKW Group continues its successful transformation into a global producer of innovative, sustainable film solutions and, with a new Executive Board, lays the foundation for further growth, especially in international markets. As of December 1, 2021, Peter Baumgartner will replace the current CEO Harald Biederbick. In addition, Marco Goetz has been appointed to the Executive Board as Chief Transformation Officer.
"In addition to many years of management experience in several industries, Peter Baumgartner brings a proven track record in global transformation projects to his new role. Together with Marco Goetz and the entire management team, he will drive the development of the RKW Group into a leading global producer of innovative, sustainable film solutions," says Supervisory Board member Phillip Müller on behalf of the owner families.
Prior to his appointment to the RKW Board, Peter Baumgartner held a number of executive and supervisory board positions in mechanical and electrical engineering businesses, consulting and private equity, including as CEO of a global manufacturing company. Marco Goetz has a background of many years of experience in management and transformation consulting.
The new Executive Board will focus on the continuous implementation and successful execution of the strategic growth plan established at the beginning of 2020. In addition to Peter Baumgartner and Marco Goetz, the board will continue to include Knud Müller (EVP Finance) and Dr Alexander Wansel (EVP Operations). Knud Müller will also assume the duties of EVP Commercial on an interim basis.
Harald Biederbick leaves the company at his own request and wishes to pursue new professional challenges. Before his appointment as CEO in 2014, he had already been working for the RKW Group since 2007, including as CFO. "Harald Biederbick has played an instrumental role in shaping RKW over this last decade and we are grateful for his valuable contribution and longstanding, trusting cooperation, and wish him continued success and all the best for the future," said Supervisory Board member Raphael Müller on behalf of the owner families and the Supervisory Board.
