RKW attending UPAKOVKA in Moscow January 28 to 31, 2020 – Pavilion Forum, booth FO-D34
Frankenthal, Germany, January 14, 2020 – At this year's UPAKOVKA, Russia's largest trade fair for processing and packaging machinery (to take place from January 28 to 31), RKW will be presenting its sustainable plastic packaging solutions for industrial purposes. This topic is currently gaining traction in the Russian market, which is why film specialist RKW will be attending the fair for the first time since 2015 – sending a clear signal and underlining its position as the leading provider of sustainable industrial packaging in Russia.
Whereas the sustainability of industrial packaging has been under intense discussion in Western Europe for years, the subject is only gradually gaining wider attention in Russia. Reason enough for RKW – one of the world's leading manufacturers of sustainable film solutions – to make its presence felt at Russia's leading trade fair for the packaging industry. "Our attendance at UPAKOVKA 2020 clearly emphasizes our strategic orientation within the industrial packaging sector," said Marco Schoke, Head of Sales at the RKW Site Echte in Kalefeld-Echte, Germany. "There is a dynamic and emergent packaging market in Russia. In such a competitive environment, Russian manufacturers appreciate the quality of our products and the reliability of our customer service."
More sustainable than paper
For its attendance at UPAKOVKA, RKW is placing emphasis on the topic of sustainability. "We're already well established in Russia as a renowned manufacturer of premium industrial packaging," said Schoke. "UPAKOVKA is an outstanding platform for us to start promoting our FFS (form, fill & seal) recyclable plastic packaging solutions – and thus to strengthen our status as a strong German partner in the sustainable industrial packaging segment of the growing Russian market."
At UPAKOVKA 2020, RKW will be presenting its plastic bag solution RKW ProVent® from the RKW ECORE Series – a special variant of its FFS film industrial packaging. The polymer-based alternative to paper bags is fully recyclable and provides ideal protection against moisture and UV radiation. This makes it a sustainable solution particularly well suited for packaging goods that are sensitive to moisture, such as construction materials and chemical powders. Recycling RKW ProVent® is easy and efficient, requiring 90 percent less energy than other packaging solutions.
Flexible and robust
RKW will also be bringing along its valve sacks for industrial applications. Their block shape makes stacking and storing these bags trivially easy, and they are available with a wide selection of different fill and de-aeration valve options to suit the specific requirements of all manner of bulk materials and processes. Also available are food-safe variants and print in up to ten colors.
As robust but nevertheless thin and lightweight variants on industrial packaging films, RKW's stretch hoods represent economic and sustainable packaging solutions for high-performance and automated packaging processes. RKW stretch hoods allow secure packaging of heat-sensitive and sharp-edged goods for outdoor storage for up to two years. Highly resistant to tearing and puncturing, they reliably hold up against sharp edges and heavy loads, making them well suited for applications in the chemical and construction industries as well as for white goods.
